Welcome To Town: Justin Moravec
New Face Around the Square
You may have noticed a new face hanging out around the square these days. After three decades of service to our community, Linda Reiling and Debbie Scrivner have retired and handed over the reins to American Family Insurance Agent, Justin Moravec.
So, last Thursday, we stopped by to welcome him to town and get the chance to know a little bit more about Justin.
Justin has been an Agent for over 10 years now and took over for Linda et al on April 1st.
The first thing you notice about him, when you walk in to his office is that Justin, often sporting his signature camo and cargo attire, looks like he’d be more at home in a deer blind than sitting behind a desk. While he’s definitely comfortable in a deer blind (avid bow hunter) he says he strives to make people comfortable when they step through his doors. Knowing that deciding which insurance is best for you and your family, he thinks people appreciate knowing the REAL person that they are dealing with, and that is what you get when you meet Justin, who still gives out his personal cell phone number to every one of his clients.
He and his wife Shaina currently live in Northern Douglas County, with their two children, Ella (5y) and Cooper (1.5y). Justin grew up in Sabetha where he was a state track and cross country star before attending college at KU and Emporia State. Besides bow hunting, he and his family enjoy outdoor adventuring wherever they can find it, Branson, Table Rock or Colorado. Both “foodies” Justin and his wife enjoy adventurous eating as well, but often find themselves in breweries where not only the food is good, but the loud atmosphere is conducive to bringing the kids along.
When asked what brought him out to Oskaloosa, he said that him and his wife have always loved small towns. For them, the lifestyle, community and privacy are their ideal place for raising a family. He enjoys being an agent because, he says, every day is something different.
Currently he will be spending his time between the new office on the square, an office by Gambino’s in Meriden and back at an office in Lawrence where his team will be sharing their 40+ years of insurance experience with their clients.
