Charitable Assistance
Located at 410 Liberty, JCSO offers transportation services to surrounding areas 5 days a week (donation requested) and a food bank available for local families and individuals. Call 785-863-2637 for more information.
Oskaloosa United Methodist church takes mission work seriously with their available food bank and partnership with USD #341 to help fill the gap for families in our area. To learn more about their service to the community, call 785-863-2592.
On a regular basis, the Catholic Charities bus stops in Oskaloosa at either the Jefferson County Service Organization or City Hall. Services include food, diaper and clothing distribution as well as rent, utility and medication assistance. Please call 913-433-2039 for more information.
Harvesters comes to distribute fresh produce and food items to families and individuals at 10 am on the first Wednesday of every month at the Jefferson County Service Organization parking lot located at 410 Liberty Street.
The Salvation Army offers assistance to up to 4 households each month on the second Monday of the month at the Jefferson County Service Organization at 410 Liberty Street. Please call 785-863-2637 to find out what documents you will need to bring in to qualify.
Health Services
Jefferson County Health Department is an invaluable resource to our community, offering a variety of health services from immunization to screenings to individuals and families in Oskaloosa. Additionally they offer elder/disabled assistance as well as hospice services and enrollment assistance for children qualifying for KanCare. They are located at 1212 Walnut Street. From shelter and safety planning to new housing, transportation, and employment, The Willow offers referrals and services to survivors, as well as educational opportunities for our community. To get help, call their 24 hour hotline at 785-843-3333.
Friends of Hospice is a volunteer supported non-profit that supports the Jefferson County Hospice program with financial donations. It also offers support to hospice patients and their care-givers through companionship and family support. To learn more visit their website.
The Jerry White Family Care Clinic is a primary care clinic for the uninsured residents of Jefferson County. Clinic is generally held on the last Monday of every month with appointments starting at 1:00pm. And services are offered on a sliding payment scale. Visit their website to learn more. The Guidance Center, located at 1102 Walnut offers support for individuals and families dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues. There services include individual, couples and group therapy, case management and more. They also offer a host of programs for children including after school and summer programs as well as parental support programs. For more information call 785-863-2929.
Educational

City Services
To report an animal to animal control call (785) 215-1377. In the event of a dog bite, call (785) 863-2351 to request police assistance.

City Council meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at City Hall located at 212 W. Washington St. To request to be put on the agenda, please email Patty Hamm at oskieclerk@gmail.com

Oskaloosa Police Department consists of a part time police force that patrols Monday-Friday and is also in charge of the city’s code enforcement. Their number is (785) 863-9257. Their offices are located in City Hall at 212 W. Washington St.

Trash is serviced by Orion Waste Solutions.
Each resident is charged a fee of $14.14 per poly cart per month. For any resident wanting more than one poly cart, you should contact City Hall to make arrangements.
Trash is to be set out by the curb at the end of your driveway by 7:00am on Tuesday. One big item is allowed per week (chair, couch, tv, etc.) without any additional charge. Paints, chemicals, refrigerators, air conditioners, tires and other hazardous materials will not be accepted.
